SONG PARODY WRITING CLASS

Write a song parody from scratch! In these two hour-long Zoom sessions, scheduled at mutual convenience, Roy works with a class of three to five songwriters to compose new lyrics to a well-known song. Political? Could be. Funny? Yes.

In the first session, we'll choose a song and a subject, come up with a great hook, brainstorm some jokes and examine how they might fit into the meter and rhyme scheme.

Homework will be writing as many lyrics as you can for he chosen song.

In the second session, we'll see what everyone has come up with and edit together one solid, hilarious parody.
